A fierce fire broke out in the forests
located in Srinagar area of Pauri-Garhwal district of Uttarakhand. The concern of everyone has increased with reports of over 20 incidents
of fire in the forests in a span of four days.
In 2016, 4,538.21 hectares were burnt by
forest fire. Last year the state has recorded 1170 cases till May. Since Uttarakhand was formed in 2000, 44,518 hectares of forest
has been burnt in fire.
More than half of the species of birds found
all over the country are found here, but the "Devabhumi" is in danger
as Uttarakhand’s forest fire season has
now reached its peak.
