 All the great leaders or the freedom fighters are really well deserved to salute their bravery work, support, and even their life that they sacrificed to make the country free from the rule of British rulers.



Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, well known by Mahatma Gandhi was one of them in his own way to get independence. Nonviolent resistance is the way he had chooses to get India’s independence from British Rule.

Now everyone surely knows some facts about Gandhi but some questions always rotate in the mind and some doubts that they are real or myth. So let’s check down the myths and the facts about Bapu Ji.

1.      Where Mahatma Gandhi born

Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi was born on October 2, 1869, at Porbandar, Gujarat, India.

Yes, Kasturbai Makhanji Kapadia/Kasturbai "Kasturba" Mohandas Gandhi1869-1944an Indian political activist, wife of Mahatma Gandhi. They married each other in 1883.

4.      Is Mahatma Gandhi related to Indira?

No, Indira Gandhi was the daughter of Jawaharlal Nehru. But wait, what about her surname? So here are many theories. The first one, where she was married to Feroze Khaz whose father was Muslim and mother was Persian Muslim. At that time she had changed her religion and name too and became Maimuna Begum. Nehru was not sure about what image he would face for the circumstances. So he asked Feroze to change his surname to Gandhi.

The second one, Nehru was not pleased by their marriage and that time Mahatma Gandhi made a public statement where he adopted Feroze and gave him the surname ‘Gandhi’.

Another theory was the full name of Feroze was Feroze Jehangir Ghandy. In the Independence Movement Mahatma Gandhi was his idol. So he decided to change the surname Ghandy into Gandhi.

5. Why Mahatma Gandhi is known as the father of the nation

Another pack of theories where many of the people believed it because only Gandhi India got their Independence so he was called by the term, but few things in-ears also had come where Subhas Chandra Bose used that term In a radio address from Singapore in 1944. After the demise of Gandhi, Nehru  in a radio address to the nation had announced that the Father of the Nation "is no more."

7.Mahatma Gandhi vs Ambedkar

Gandhi and Ambedkar clashed with each other at the Round Table Conference [in London] where they were claiming that they were the real representatives of the Untouchables. Gandhi did not want to represent untouchables by Ambedkar. Finally, in the Poona Pact Agreement, they both agreed on behalf of depressed classes and upper-caste Hindu leaders on the reservation of electoral seats for the depressed classes in the legislature of the British India government

8.      Mahatma Gandhi vs Subhash Chandra Bose

Both were the great leaders but the way they followed to earn freedom is completely the opposite. Where Mahatma Gandhi was known for his non-violence protest Bose was straight to get India free with the help of the army.

Many people strongly believed at that time it was Bose, not Gandhi for whom India got them independent.

Nehru Always followed Gandhi and it was obvious that after Gandhi, Nehru will take over the Congress Party.

 In 1893 to represent an Indian merchant in a lawsuit he moved to South Africa.  Gandhi traveled to South Africa in early 1893 to practice law under a one-year contract.

After over 21 years of stay in South Africa, Gandhi returned to India on January 9, 1915, with his wife Kasturbai.

Godse considered Gandhi to have been too accommodating to Muslims during the Partition of India of the previous year.
