National Institute Ranking Framework
Ministry
of Human Resource Development (MHRD) has declared NIRF India Rankings 2020 today (11th june). National Institute Ranking Framework (NIRF) was launched in 2015 and
first rankings were announced in 2016.
The annual rankings are usually
announced in april but had to be postponed due to the covid-19 pandemic.
A total of 3,771 universities and
higher educational institutions across the country participated in the ranking
process.
The number of institutes which
participated in the rankings has increased by 20% this year.
IIT Madras, IISc Bangalore and IIT Delhi
bagged the top three positions among educational institutions in the country.
Maulana Azad Institute of Dental Sciences, Delhi has topped the list of dental institutes in the county, in the National Institutional Ranking Framework list of 2020.
