Tamil Nadu government to rename three metro rail stations in Chennai after late Chief Ministers

Durring this covid pandemic,, TamilNadu goverrnment just passed a bill where names of three metro stations will be changed.

"Tamil Nadu CM issues order to rename three Metro stations in Chennai. Alandur Metro to be renamed as Arignar Anna Alandur Metro, Central Metro as Puratchi Thalaivar Dr MG Ramachandran Metro & CMBT Metro as Puratchi Thalaivi Dr J Jayalalithaa CMBT Metro: Tamil Nadu CMO," ANI tweeted.

Alandur, Central and CMBT metro stations will be called Arignar Anna Alandur Metro,, Puratchi Thalaivar Dr. M.G. Ramachandran Central Metro and Puratchi Thalaivi Dr. J. Jayalalithaa CMBT Metro, respectively.

CMRL officials said that the new deadline would be around early 2021. "We expect the line to be operation by then," an official said.
